Love for Etsy

Today's Etsy post is for my little sis, Madi, who commented a few weeks ago on how she is really into floral dresses for spring. Madi consistently rocks grandma shoes, skinny jeans, mis-matched patterns and home-made floral headbands. She is a cool chick and writes an inspiring blog here. The finds below are pretty cool too. Enjoy!

I love how a belt can shape up a dress and make it look feminine and stylish!

Pizza Pizza

Eric and I love to try new recipes for dinner. I love to cook - he loves to eat (I kid, I kid). One of the most fun foods to make/eat is pizza! My mom makes fabulous pizzas - all funky and different. I recently stumbled on two recipe blogs: Macaroni and Cheesecake and You're Gonna Bake it After All. We made a pizza from each of these websites that I just had to share with you. They were incredibly easy to make and a tasty twist on regular pizza ingredients. Enjoy!

White Tomato Pizza
-1 pre-made crust of your choice
-1/4 cup part-skim ricotta cheese
-2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
-sliced tomatoes
-garlic powder
-salt and pepper
-parmesan cheese for serving
-fresh basil for serving

Preheat oven as directed for crust. Spray crust with cooking spray and sprinkle with garlic powder. Top crust with ricotta, mozzarella and tomatoes. Sprinkle with salt and pepper. Bake for about 10 minutes. Broil for another 1-2 minutes or until cheese is bubbly. Serve topped with parmesan cheese and fresh basil leaves (don't be shy with the basil - this makes it!).

Chicken Pesto Pizza
-1 pre-made crust of your choice
-2 chicken breasts, cut into small pieces
-1 T. Italian seasoning
-1 red pepper, diced
-1 green pepper, diced
-1/2 orange pepper, diced
-sliced white mushrooms
-3 T. pesto
-1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

Preheat oven as directed for crust. Heat a small amount of olive oil over medium-high heat and cook the chicken for about 3 minutes. Sprinkle with Italian seasoning. Before chicken is cooked through, add all vegetables and more Italian seasoning. Cook until chicken is done and veggies are tender. Spread pesto evenly on crust. Top with chicken/veggie mixture. Top with mozzarella cheese. Bake for time indicated for crust.

**Note: I made slight changes to the original recipes which can be found here and here. They turned out incredibly yummy and very pretty. Unfortunately, I did not take pictures, so the pictures above are from the respective bloggers sites. Thank you!

Glass Bottles

For our wedding I wanted to mix old bottles in with regular vases. I found a set of 12 glass milk bottles on ebay that a lady dug up from under her house. After many hours of scrubbing they were finally presentable. They fit perfectly with the wildflower look we wanted.

Now that our wedding has come and gone, I am reluctant to get rid of these beauties. So they sit in my dining room waiting for a place to call home. I am inspired by the pictures below to: (a) remake them into faux milk glass to decorate our kitchen; (b) fill them with flowers and congregate them together on our bedroom dresser; or (c) buy more!

What other ideas do you have? Aren't vintage glass bottles charming?

Bracelets

Now that it's warm enough to wear short sleeves my bracelets and bangles can actually be seen! I don't wear a lot of jewelry, so statement bracelets like the ones below go a long way for me. Talk about "Ooh la la!"

On a side note, I have a tough time sporting multiple pieces of jewelry for one outfit. I can wear earrings or a necklace or a bracelet, but never two at the same time! (Of course, I'm always wearing my rings). Are you "weird" like me?

April Calendar

An April calendar designed by Silhouette Jess is available to download and print for free here. What a treat!

I included masking tape in a recent Love for Etsy post and now I am really wanting to buy some for myself. If you print this calendar, be sure to stop by Silhouette and tell her how much you love it. You can find her post on masking tape there as well.

Music to My Ears

Robert Plant & Alison Krauss - Raising Sand
Today's music post features the perfectly blended duo of Robert Plant and Alison Krauss. Eric and I were so lucky to see them in concert in Chattanooga a few years ago. Alison's voice sent chills down my spine and Plant moved with a confident ease reminiscent of his Led Zeppelin days (I should know, I've seen tons of concert footage. Do you know my husband?). Their first album,Raising Sand, won five Grammys, including Album of the Year. I want to introduce them to you now, because word is that we will be hearing from these two again soon. Below is a video of one of my favorites. Enjoy!

Gone Gone Gone - Robert Plant & Alison Krauss, Raising Sand

Eric and I love this album so much that our guitarist played Your Long Journey as my dad walked me down the aisle and our (almost!) brother-in-law included Stick With Me Baby in our wedding video.

Please tell me, what do you think of this album? Wouldn't they make such a cute couple?
